Christmas-mad Tania Leek, 60, started saving all the way back in January and doesn’t stop watching festive films all year round. Whether it be a sunny day in July, or a cold frosty February evening, Tania’s festive spirit never goes out.
She is such a savvy saver that not only does she squirrel cash away for her nearest and dearest – she’s also taken on the responsibility of helping friends and family to save too.
This year, the nan from Swansea has helped 68 people save a whopping £28,500 with Park Christmas Savings, with every penny going on Christmas presents, decorations and food.
“Christmas is all about getting the whole family round and seeing everybody,” said Tania.
“That’s why I love being organised with my budget and having Christmas planned ahead so I don’t have to worry about money at the most magical time of the year.”
Tania has achieved this incredible financial feat as a Park Christmas Savings’ Agent. She helps other families to save with the Christmas savings club, encouraging them to set realistic savings targets and supporting them through the year.
Whether they need to increase or reduce their payments and targets because of changes in their personal circumstances, Tania is there to support, advise and ultimately ensure all her customers reach their goals and enjoy the Christmas they deserve.
“By popping a small amount of money a week aside, I’ve managed to save £400 for myself this Christmas,” she said.
“My family and friends pay whatever they can afford towards their target – some just put in a fiver a week – and that all goes onto their Park order. I can’t believe that together we have managed to put aside nearly £30,000 this year!”
Christmas-obsessed Tania said her favourite festive tune is the iconic ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham! while her favourite movie to watch, whether tucking into her Christmas turkey or sinking a summer cocktail, is Miracle on 34th Street.
Her favourite thing about the festive season is spending time with her daughter, son and grandchild, but surprisingly she is less keen on receiving presents, preferring to give gifts instead.
“I love giving presents out to my family far more than getting them,” she said. “But don’t get me wrong, it’s still nice when someone thinks to get you something!”
Christmas can be a stressful time of the year, but Tania finds that Park helps her ease the pressure of the festive season.
“Without Park Christmas Savings, I wouldn’t save money, I’d dip into it!,” she said.
