Morgan out as Ospreys make five changes for Montpellier EPCR Challenge Cup clash 

The Ospreys have made five changes to their starting XV as they prepare to face Montpellier in Round 2 of the EPCR Challenge Cup Pool 2 on Sunday afternoon at the GGL Stadium.

Morgan Morris will captain the side for the fourth successive week with the continued absence of Justin Tipuric. 

Nicky Smith starts at loosehead, Dewi Lake at hooker with Tom Botha completing the front three. 

James Fender partners Adam Beard at lock, whilst Tristan Davies lines up at six. With Wales captain Jac Morgan missing out on the other flank, there is a start for Harri Deaves, whilst Morris starts at eight.

Reuben Morgan-Williams lines up at scrum half, with Owen Williams starting at 10. Owen Watkin continues in midfield partnering George North at centre. 

In the back three, Jack Walsh comes in for Iestyn Hopkins at full back, with Keelan Giles on one wing and Matt Protheroe on the other. 

“This is a good opportunity for us to go abroad and test ourselves against a French powerhouse team,” said head coach Toby Booth.

“There’s a new coaching group at Montpellier so we’ll be wary of a new coach-bounce, but the main focus for us is on ourselves and making sure we bring the right levels of energy.”
