A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Gloucestershire after a man was stabbed in Neath town centre on Friday night, police say.
South Wales Police said officers were called to Commercial Street at around 10.30pm on Friday 2 October, after a report of a stabbing.
The victim, a 30-year-old man from Sandfields, received medical treatment and has since been discharged from hospital, the force said.
The suspect, a 30-year-old man from Neath Abbey, was arrested in Gloucestershire on Sunday night and is in police custody.
Police said the two men were not known to each other.
Police had been searching for the suspect since Friday night, and had appealed for witnesses and footage, it was reported at the weekend.
Chief Inspector Carl Morris said at the time that knife crime remained low in Neath, but that “even one instance of knife crime is one too many”.
Anyone with information can contact South Wales Police online or on 101, quoting reference 2600323403, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The force said its investigation is ongoing.
