Six fire crews attended the blaze at the Llanelli property on Wednesday evening (21 February) after a property on Min y Môr in Llanelli caught fire.
Some properties nearby were evacuated while the fire was brought under control.
Dyfed Powys Police report that they had arrested a female on suspicion of arson, who remains in custody.
A teenager has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said: “Emergency services were called to a report of a house fire at a property in Min Y Mor, Llanelli on Wednesday evening, 21st February 2024.
“A teenager has been taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
“A woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson and currently remains in police custody.
“An investigation is underway in conjunction with the Mid and West Wales Fire and rescue Service to find out the cause of the fire.
“A number of neighbouring properties were evacuated during the incident.
“Those living closest to the affected house will remain displaced until it is safe for them to return.”

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 6.28pm on Wednesday, February 21st, the Llanelli, Tumble, Gorseinon, Pontiets, Carmarthen and Morriston crews were called to an incident in Min y Môr, Llanelli.
“Crews responded to a fire within a two-storey domestic property measuring approximately 5m x 4m. Crews utilised 14 breathing apparatus, two main jets, two hose reel jets, four thermal imaging cameras, two seven-metre ladders and one turntable ladder to extinguish the fire. The property was completely destroyed by fire. Crews left the scene at 10.49pm.
“At 12.31am on Thursday, February 22nd, the Llanelli crew reattended the scene due to a reignition of the property’s roof joists. Crew members utilised one hose reel jet, one seven-metre ladder and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. A reinspection was arranged for later this morning.
“At 5am a reinspection of three properties was held using thermal imaging cameras, no hot spots were found. Dyfed-Powys Police were also in attendance and are maintaining a presence at the scene.”
An investigation into the fire is continuing.
