A website is selling tickets for a Halloween scare park in Singleton Park. Swansea Council says the event does not exist.
The council said on Wednesday it had been made aware of a website selling tickets for fake Halloween events at the park. “Do not part with any money as this is a scam,” it said.
The site, halloweennightsfear.co.uk, is professional-looking, with a logo, social media links, a ticket basket and a countdown clock. It advertises “The Bay Hollow Scarefest” at Singleton Park from 20 October to 1 November, billed as “South West Wales’ first large-scale Halloween scare park”, with family rides and trails by day and live-actor scare mazes after dark.
Tickets run from £16 for a child in the daytime to £34 for an adult after dark, with a £65 family ticket and a £65 season pass. A banner reads “80% Sold, Limited Tickets Left”.

The real one is free
The council’s own Halloween event is Spooks in the City, at St David’s Place on Saturday 31 October from 1pm to 6pm. It is free.
The event has run in the city centre every October for years. Last year it spread across two zones, a family “Peculiar Place” at St David’s Place with a main stage, games and a costume competition, and a “Dark Park” for thrill-seekers across the Troll Bridge at Amy Dillwyn Park, linked by a monster photo trail.
The full 2026 programme had not been posted on the council’s Visit Swansea Bay site by Wednesday afternoon. Its only ticketed event in Singleton Park this autumn is the Bonfire Night fireworks on Thursday 5 November, where an adult ticket is £6.

Photos from York and Alton Towers, and theme parks that aren’t on its own list
The photographs on the Singleton Park listing appear to have been taken elsewhere. A reverse image search matches the gateway picture, under a sign reading “Hallowscream”, to York Maze’s Hallowscream event in North Yorkshire, and a second picture of a scare maze to Alton Towers’ Scarefest.
The site’s About page says it runs “25 Halloween events across the UK”, including ghost hunts in 20 cities and “five legendary theme-park scarefests” at Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Chessington, Legoland and Drayton Manor.
None of those five parks appears among the ten events listed on its homepage. All five run their own long-established Halloween seasons under their own names.
The nine other events it does list all run on the same dates: “After Dark” nights at Cardiff Castle, Croxteth Hall in Liverpool and Bradgate Park in Leicester, a “Hollow Scarefest” near Edinburgh, and “Haunted Vessel” boat events in London, Liverpool, Bristol, Southampton and Salford.
Its contact page gives an address in Barnes, south-west London, a mobile number and the line “We have no public box office”. There is no company registration number, and a Companies House search for the name finds no registered company, though a business can trade under a name it has not registered.
Not the first council to warn
In August Leeds City Council said a “Temple Newsam After Dark” scarefest advertised by a similarly built site, hauntedhalloweenescape.co.uk, “had not been organised or authorised by our site team”, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported.
Last month Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire told people a “Hillfort Haunting” event on the same site was fake, The News in Portsmouth reported. That site now shows only an “under construction” page.
Anyone who has already paid should contact their bank or card provider as soon as possible and report it to Action Fraud. Tickets for the council’s fireworks are sold only through Visit Swansea Bay.
Swansea Bay News has asked Halloween Nights Fear whether it has permission to stage an event in Singleton Park, who is behind the site, where its photographs came from and whether buyers will be refunded. No reply had been received by the time of publication.
