Moussa Yeo and Adam Idah scored in the second half as Swansea City came from a goal down to beat Norwich City 2-1 at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The win puts the Swans four points clear at the top of the Championship, at least until the rest of the weekend’s games are played.

Jacob Wright gave Norwich a half-time lead against the run of play. But, as at Lincoln before the international break, Vitor Matos’ side fought back in the second half.

Matos had warned that Norwich were better than their league position.

Fulton, Franco and Opoku come in for the Swans

Matos made three changes. Jay Fulton, Gonçalo Franco and Joseph Opoku came in, with Stephen Eustáquio ruled out with a shoulder problem.

New Zealand pair Marko Stamenic and Eli Just were on the bench after getting back late from international duty.

Norwich were without top scorer Mo Toure and captain Kenny McLean.

Idah misses the best of the early chances

The opening period was even, with the Swans edging possession but rarely troubling Norwich in the final third. Yeo’s long-range shot straight at goalkeeper Vladan Kovačević was the closest either side came early on.

The best chance came midway through the half on the counter. Opoku’s driving run pulled the Norwich defence back, and the French winger slipped in Idah, but the former Norwich striker could not get the ball under control.

Norwich were dangerous on the break too, and Stephen Welsh had to head a left-wing cross off the line.

Jacob Wright puts Norwich ahead against the run of play

Moments later, the Canaries were ahead. Oscar Schwartau pressed to win the ball on the right and squared for former Manchester City youngster Wright, who slotted past Lawrence Vigouroux from close range.

Idah almost replied straight away, forcing a sharp save from Kovačević with a point-blank header, then heading over from a near-identical Yeo cross.

The Irish forward was a constant handful, but the finishing touch would not come. The Swans went in a goal down despite being the better side for long spells.

Moussa Yeo levels after the break

It did not take long to draw level. Josh Tymon’s cross from the left flashed past Kovačević and Idah, and Yeo was waiting at the back post to finish into an empty net for his second goal in as many games.

Idah was denied again when Kovačević smothered his shot after Franco picked him out, and Opoku’s follow-up was blocked on the line.

Adam Idah gets the goal his performance deserved

Idah finally got his goal, glancing in a header from Melker Widell’s deep cross to put the Swans ahead for the first time.

Norwich improved and pushed hard, but the Swans defended well. Vigouroux made a strong save from a Ruairi McConville header in the closing minutes, and Swansea held on for the three points.

Eom Ji-sung came off the bench late on to a hero’s welcome from the home fans.
