The event will take place from 7:30pm on Saturday 9 May at the Village Hotel, bringing together local businesses, community supporters and firefighters for an evening of fundraising and live music in support of fire service personnel and their families.
The auction is being organised by Specsavers Swansea, The Kingsway, and Mumbles as part of their ongoing commitment to Fire Fighters Charity, following their 2025 in-store fundraising activity, which raised £500.
Fire Fighters Charity provides specialist physical, mental and emotional support to members of the UK’s fire and rescue services, as well as their families, helping them recover from injury, illness and the long-term impact of service.
Organisers are now appealing for local businesses to donate auction prizes or experiences, with all proceeds going directly to the charity. Already, the Village Hotel has donated an overnight stay, with breakfast.
Amy Griffiths, community manager, said:
“We’ve seen first-hand how generous Swansea can be when it comes to supporting important local causes and we’re excited to build on last year’s fundraising efforts in a bigger, more community-focused way.
“Fire Fighters Charity provides essential support to people who put themselves on the line for all of us, and this auction is a chance for the local community to come together and give something back.”
Businesses interested in contributing auction prizes or people wishing to attend the event are encouraged to contact the store on 01792 474426.
Tickets include a drink on arrival and buffet food throughout the night and can be purchased for a minimum donation of £10 through the following link.
