Chris had suffered with a rare condition called FG – a disorder that affects muscles around the body and also severely compromises the brains full functionality.
Despite the physical challenges that Chris had to deal with all through his life he would be always smiling, especially where he would be at his happiest – supporting his beloved football team Swansea City.
Fans of the Swans would describe Chris as amazing guy who embodied everything it meant to support the football club. His passing leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to the team.
Known as ‘the celebrity’ Chris would touch everyone’s life he encountered. His commitment to Swansea City would be unparalleled, truly living and breathing for the team and someone who many believe is an irreplaceable figure in the stands.
This afternoon Swansea City Football club statement announced that during tomorrow night’s league encounter with Leeds United fans will be encouraged to collectively produce a minutes applause in memory of Chris in the 29th minute of the match.
Chris was well-known to the playing staff, in particular forward Jamie Paterson, his favourite player who he questions humorously in the above video recorded in 2022 on the best footballer Paterson has seen and also his favourite pudding.
Paterson like many others would pay tribute writing – RIP Chris.
Club chaplin and announcer Kev Johns added:
“If everyone was as kind and as friendly as Chris then the world would be a better place. Universally loved by all who knew him! Rest in peace Chris as our love, thoughts and prayers are with your family and many many friends! Chris loved everything about @SwansOfficial YJB.”
Chris will be remembered as Swans fans say ‘as one of our own’
