Mark Drakeford self-isolating after positive COVID test

The Welsh First Minister is self-isolating after receiving a positive COVID-19 test result.
The news comes just a day before he was due to give his latest public statement on changes to COVID rules in Wales.
Mr Drakeford is reportedly self-isolating and working remotely after a PCR test showed o positive COVID result.
According to current rules in Wales he will need to self-isolate for at least five days, only leaving isolation if he gets a negative Lateral Flow Test on days 5 and 6.
In England, all remaining Covid restrictions, including the rule to self-isolate, could end later this month, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said. The current restrictions in England are due to expire on 24 March.
At the last Welsh Government COVID briefing, Mr Drakeford relaxed regulations due to falling infection rates, with Wales now back to ‘Alert Level 0’.
The Welsh Government has said that Economy Minister, Vaughan Gething will now deliver Friday’s COVID update press conference.
