Appeal launched to find missing Baglan pensioner
South Wales Police have launched an appeal to find a 87-year-old man from Baglan who has been reported missing by his family.
Vivian Davies from Maes Ty Canol in Baglan was last seen around 8.30am on Sunday morning, (21 May).
He is described as around 5ft2, of slim build with grey hair. It is believed he was wearing knee length dark shorts, a long sleeved stripped top and had a rucksack with him.
Specialist police officers have been searching for him since he was reported missing and now want to speak to a woman who may have information which could help them find Vivian.
It is believed that sometime between 5.30pm and 6pm yesterday evening (Monday 22nd May), an elderly man was found to have fallen over on the cycle path from Cwmavon that leads to Pontrhydyfen – it’s the path between Piggery Bridge and the Gorad Bridge. We understand that the man who had fallen was helped by an unknown woman.
Inspector Mike Lewis from South Wales Police said: “I would ask this woman to contact us as she may have information which could prove helpful to our enquiries.
“Vivian’s family and friends are growing increasingly concerned and they just want to know he is safe and well. If anyone has any information, please do contact us quoting occurrence number 2300165552.”
