The Post Office says it is proposing to relocate Cwmavon Post Office to a new location – Premier Express at Tyr Owen Stores in Cwmavon.

It is also proposing new longer opening hours , with the new facility open an extra six hours a week.

The proposed move is due to the current building being unavailable after the resignation of the existing postmaster.

A spokesperson from the Post Office said: “The current postmaster at 5 Tyr Owen Row, Cwmavon, Port Talbot, SA12 9BE, has resigned and the premises would be withdrawn for Post Office use.

“However, we are pleased to inform you that a new operator has been appointed, who has identified an alternative location to operate Cwmavon Post Office.
