A man who died after a four-vehicle collision on the A48 in Port Talbot has been named by police as Brian William Bodenham.
The 80-year-old, from Margam, was the driver of a Vauxhall Agila involved in the crash on Margam Road on Wednesday 6 May.
He was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries. His family confirmed he passed away on 18 May.
The collision happened at around 12.22pm, on Margam Road between Groeswen Park and the junction with Rhanallt Street.
It involved four vehicles: the Vauxhall Agila, a Citroen Picasso, a Rover 45 and an MG3.
South Wales Police said its Serious Collision Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate.
In a tribute, Mr Bodenham’s family said he had “peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family”.
They described him as the dearly beloved husband of the late Catherine, and a much-loved father of Gary and Darren.
He was also a cherished grandfather to Joseph, Hollie and Olivia, and a loving brother to Valerie.
“Brian will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him,” the family said.
They asked for privacy at this time, and urged people not to speculate about the collision while the investigation is ongoing.
The force had appealed for information following the collision in May, when the driver’s condition was described as critical.
Officers are renewing that appeal for anyone who saw the collision, or the manner in which the vehicles were being driven beforehand, to come forward.
