Seven-year-old Roman from Bridgend, who is undergoing treatment for Leukaemia, is a huge police fan and was given an early Christmas treat when he was welcomed to South Wales Police’s horse and dog unit last week.
He’s currently working his way through a special wish list, and South Wales Police’s horse and dog team were only too happy to help him tick this particular dream off the list.
Joined by his mum Gemma and siblings, Mason and Felicity, Roman was welcomed to South Wales Police’s Waterton base by Assistant Chief Constable Mark Travis.
There they met some of the dogs and their handlers and South Wales Police’s horses. The brave little lad also got to sit on a police motorbike, in a patrol car and test out a police radio.

And his special visit was topped off with a surprise appearance from Santa himself.
ACC Mark Travis commented: “Roman was a true superstar, and it was pleasure to welcome him to our dogs and horses unit.
“All of our team gave him a fantastic welcome, and it was great to put a smile on his face ahead of the festive season.”
