The changes, due to kick in from Sunday 5 May, also includes a change of operator to some council-subsidised services after a re-tendering process by the local authority.
In Mumbles, timetables for services 2, 2A and 3A will all see changes, with service 3 withdrawn entirely. Service 3A will operate every 30 minutes rather than its current 60 minute frequency to replace the withdrawn service 3. Sunday evening journeys will no longer be operated by First Cymru after the council’s re-tendering process and will instead be operated by Adventure Travel. First Cymru tickets will be accepted by the new operator, however.
The Morriston Hospital to Singleton Hospital cross-city routes 4 and 4A will also see timetable changes to improve reliability. The council subsidised Sunday evening journeys will also no longer be operated by First Cymru, with the contract also having been won by Adventure Travel.
The Port Tennant service 6 will see an additional early morning journey introduced as well as getting other timetable changes to improve reliability.
The Marina service 7 gets a new timetable changes too with some journeys leaving Swansea Marina 5 minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
Townhill services 12 and 13 are getting some timetable changes to improve reliability with more than 10 minutes extra running time added to some journeys.
Service 14 to Pennard via Mayals, Bishopston and Kittle will see a change of operator from 5 May with First Cymru picking up the council-subsidised route from Adventure Travel. The service will run every 90 minutes during the day. The Sunday Service 14 will continue to be operated by Adventure Travel, however.
Service 16 to Pontarddulais via Gowerton and Gorseinon will see some revisions to the timetable to aid punctuality. First Cymru will also take over the running of the council-subsidised evening journeys from Adventure Travel, that operate after 8pm.
Dunvant and Killay services 20, 20A and 21 will see some minor timetable changes, again to improve reliability with journeys now scheduled to take longer.
Service 24 to Morriston Hospital through Treboeth, Caemawr and Morriston will see a change of operator as First Cymru win the council tender from Adventure Travel. The service will run every hour through the daytime from Monday to Saturday.
Blaen-y-maes service 25 will see journeys take longer as part of First Cymru’s efforts to improve the reliability of its timetable. The Penplas service 28 will also see journeys take longer. Evening journeys on the 28 will no longer be run by First Cymru after Adventure Travel won the tender for this council-subsidised route. First Cymru tickets will be accepted by the new operator, however.
Tycoch services 29 and 39 will see timetable changes with most journeys starting earlier.
The Birchgrove service 31 will see timetable changes, with Sunday evening council-subsidised services no longer operated by First Cymru after Adventure Travel won the tender.
Morriston Service 36 will see some journey times changed to aid reliability of the service, as will Morriston to Swansea University services 41 and 42.
The Swansea to Llanelli service 111 will get a new timetable with services operating from Swansea at 20 past and 10 to the hour rather than its current schedule of on the hour and half past the hour. Times will also change on the return Llanelli to Swansea journey which will now be at 10 past and 20 to the hour.
Gower College Swansea services 961, 963, 964 and 967 will all get timetable revisions to aid punctuality.
Park and Ride services to Landore and Fabian Way, while not getting timetable changes will see new route numbers as Fabian Way service PR1 becomes service 51 and Landore service PR2 becomes service 52.
First Cymru have published copies of all of the revised timetables on their website ahead of the 5 May changes.
Other changes
Other bus operators in the city have also announced timetable changes
South Wales Transport say that from 2 April, times of some journeys on their Service 22 to Three Crosses changed. There will also be an addition morning journey from Killay to Three Crosses, and the route will change on the last journey of the day through Tycoch.
The operator’s Service 37 from the city to Oystermouth also saw changes from 2 April, with the times of some journeys changing. The service no longer serves Westport Crescent, and late afternoon journeys only run as far as Derwen Fawr instead of all the way to Oystermouth.
From 7 May, South Wales Transport will operate the council-subsidised service 46 between Morriston and Gorseinon after winning the tender from Adventure Travel. The route and timetable will not change, but the service will no longer extend to and from Gowerton at school times.
