Port Talbot actor Michael Sheen has been installed as the early bookmakers’ favourite to win Celebrity Traitors series two – ahead of a star-studded cast heading to the Scottish Highlands later this year.

Sheen is priced at 6/1 by early market makers, giving him an implied probability of around 14% – making him the slim favourite in what is described as a tightly contested field. TV presenter Maya Jama is close behind at 7/1, with comedian Joe Lycett at 9/1 and Joanne McNally at 10/1.

Swansea Bay News revealed last weekend that Sheen had been confirmed for the second series of the BAFTA-winning BBC One show – alongside a cast that includes Ross Kemp, Bella Ramsey, Miranda Hart, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, James Blunt, Rob Beckett, Richard E Grant and James Acaster.

Journalist Amol Rajan is the rank outsider at 25/1, while Stranger Things star Bella Ramsey – who many fans will consider a dark horse given her acting background – is priced at 10/1.

The first series of Celebrity Traitors was won by Welsh actress Cathy Tyson, who successfully concealed her Traitor status throughout the series to claim the prize fund for her chosen charity.

Sheen – who was born in Newport but raised in Port Talbot – is one of Wales’s most celebrated actors, with credits ranging from Frost/Nixon and The Queen to Good Omens alongside David Tennant. The third series of Good Omens is due to arrive on Amazon Prime Video on 13 May.
