The family of Ceiran Evans have organised a memorial ride-out to celebrate the life of the 18-year-old, who died following a collision in Gorseinon earlier this month.
The event will honour Ceiran’s love of bikes and vehicles, which his family have described as one of the things he loved most.
His family said Ceiran had worked hard and saved his own money to buy “the bike of his dreams,” and was “so proud of it.” Two days later, they said, he died while riding it.
His mother said she wanted to bring people together “to remember Ceiran, celebrate his life, and honour the passion he had for bikes and vehicles.”
Those taking part will meet at The New Lodge (Legion) at 10am on Sunday 19 July.
The family said everyone is welcome — “motorbikes, cars, and even pushbikes” — whether they knew Ceiran personally or simply want to show their support.
In a message to the community, his family thanked people “for every message, every kind word, and every bit of support you have shown our family.”
“The love from the community has been overwhelming during the hardest time of our lives,” they said.
“Nothing will ever take away the pain of losing Ceiran, but knowing how loved he was and seeing everyone come together for him means more than words can say.”
The tribute was signed with love from Ceiran’s mother, stepfather, grandparents, his brother and sister, and his auntie.
Ceiran’s family paid tribute to him earlier this month as a much-loved young man with a “kind heart, wicked sense of humour, loving nature, and handsome smile.”
A man has been charged in connection with Ceiran’s death and is before the courts.
