A man and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested after a car on the A48 Clase Road in Morriston, alongside Asda and close to Castle Bingo, was left with damage police say is “consistent with a firearms discharge”.

The roads around Asda reopened in the early hours of Saturday. They had been shut for much of Friday night after South Wales Police declared a critical incident.

Officers will stay visible in the area. Chief Superintendent Stephen Jones said: “This investigation remains ongoing and a policing presence will continue in the area as officers work to reassure the local community.”
The 41-year-old man, from Llansamlet, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life. The boy, also from Llansamlet, was arrested on suspicion of affray, the force said.
Two people were still in custody at 2.52am on Saturday, police confirmed.
One person has gone to police with what officers described as minor injuries. The force said it was not aware of any serious injuries or deaths.
Morriston Town AFC fireworks at The Dingle moved to tonight
Morriston Town AFC called off its firework display at The Dingle on Friday night on police advice.
In a social media post, the club said: “Unfortunately, the police have advised due to an issue ongoing, the event has to be cancelled. With immediate effect.”
It later added: “What’s happened tonight has been totally crazy, we never thought we’d end up having to shut down the event. Everyone’s safety is our priority.”
The display has been moved to tonight, Saturday 7 November, with gates opening at 5pm, the club says. Tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for children and £12 for a family, but family tickets will not be on sale at the gate.
Clase Road and Upper Fforest Way reopen after hours of closures
Drivers were first told to avoid the A48 Clase Road just before 7pm on Friday, when the road was partly closed.
By 10.19pm, with a critical incident declared, officers had shut Upper Fforest Way from the Asda roundabout to Clase Road, and Clase Road down to the A4067 dual carriageway.

Armed police were sent to the incident, and a National Police Air Service helicopter circled the area before returning to base, the BBC reported.
Confirming the reopening overnight, Ch Supt Jones said: “These roads have now reopened following officer attendance.”
He thanked residents: “We thank the public wholeheartedly for their understanding and support during an incident which will have caused great concern to the people of Morriston, Llansamlet and wider Swansea.”
Police ask for footage and warn against social media rumours
Officers are aware that footage of the incident is circulating online. Ch Supt Jones asked anyone who witnessed what happened, or has information or footage, to contact South Wales Police.
The force has also urged people not to share “unfounded rumours” on social media, and to rely only on verified and official sources.
A criminal investigation is under way.
