The Welsh Rugby Union announced the SRC competition back in May 2024 and its goal to bridge the gap for players moving between the academies and four professional regional teams.
In the new competition format, there will be breaks for the autumn internationals and Six Nations programmes, with two seven-match blocks held in September and October, November to January, before the final four regular matches and play-offs to be staged between the end of March and mid-May.
Aberavon, Bridgend and Swansea will represent the Ospreys Region in the SRC and will all receive an allocation of Ospreys contracted players as part of a performance partnership that has been formed with the clubs.
As part of the allocation, players will return to their clubs of origin. Coaches from the SRC clubs and the Ospreys will be in constant communication to ensure alignment, and that the players individual development plans are fully supported.

Dan Griffiths, Rugby General Manager for the Ospreys, said:
“There is an excitement that comes with a new competition and we have had some very positive interaction with the clubs selected to be part of Super Rygbi Cymru.
“The partnership agreement we have committed to shows a desire to work closely together to provide players within the region a pathway to professional rugby.
“Our pre-season fixture, the number of SRC club players that have trained with us through pre-season and coach exchanges to share our key development and performance principles demonstrates how this partnership is really moving forward.
“The aim through of all these interactions with the clubs is to identify and provide talented young local players with an opportunity to progress. It emphasises the message that the door into the Ospreys is never closed.”
The allocation of players are as follows:
Aberavon
Owen Erasmus, Dylan James, Cori Lewis-Jenkins, Connor Moyse, Scott Whitlock.
Bridgend
Evan Hill, Ben Evans, Rhydian Greenhall, Tom Florence, Lewis Jones, Math Iowerth-Scott.
