Oil giant Shell, who are the owner of the site, have put forward proposals for a new filling station for petrol and diesel vehicles, as well as 8 EV charging units.

The plans also include a 377m2 retail store incorporating a shop and a drive-thru restaurant to the rear of the building.

The proposals, which are at a very early stage, have been submitted to council planners for ‘pre-planning’ guidance, where officers for the council give their thoughts on proposals before any formal planning submission is made.

Discount supermarket Lidl previously submitted plans to build a store at the site, however these were subsequently withdrawn.
