Funded by the council, the new service 7 will run once a week, and is intended to give residents without their own transport the chance to visit family memorials as opposed to being used to attend funeral services.

Starting on Thursday 2 May 2024, local operator Ridgeways Coaches will operate service 7 every Thursday, departing from Port Talbot Bus Station at 9:45am and arriving at 10am. The bus will serve all designated bus stops along the route including Port Talbot Transport Hub, Talbot Road, Taibach, and Margam. The return journey from the crematorium will leave at 10:45am and stop at the same locations.

Councillor Wyndham Griffiths, Neath Port Talbt Council’s Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning, Transport & Connectivity, said: “We are pleased to be able to launch this new bus service to Margam Crematorium, which directly addresses the feedback we have had from our residents.
