SWANSEA: Becky Hill to open Tunes on the Bay 2027 as the beach festival goes dance

Two years after McFly and Supergrass played the sand, the Friday headliner is a two-time BRIT winner and the Saturday bill is wall-to-wall DJs. Here’s who, when and how to get in.

Becky Hill will headline the first night of Tunes on the Bay 2027. She plays Swansea Bay beach on Friday 30 April.

The two-time BRIT winner is the first name confirmed for the festival’s third year, Swansea Council said, and tickets for her night are on sale now.

Hill took Best Dance Act at the BRITs in 2022 and 2023. She first surfaced on The Voice UK and had her first UK number one with Gecko (Overdrive), her collaboration with Oliver Heldens, before a run that includes Remember, Heaven on My Mind, My Heart Goes (La Di Da), Disconnect and Crazy What Love Can Do.

She has recorded with David Guetta, Ella Henderson, Chase and Status and Sigala, and the Saturday after her sits firmly in the same world.

Saturday: Judge Jules, DJ Hype, Lisa Lashes and the Tidy Boys

The Saturday line-up was already out before Hill’s name: dance, hard dance and drum and bass, with Billy Gillies, Lisa Lashes, General Levy, Eddie Halliwell, the Tidy Boys, DJ Hazard, FISH56OCTAGON, Alex Kidd, DJ Hype and Judge Jules among the names.

That is a different festival from the one that opened on the beach in May 2025, when McFly headlined the Friday with Scouting For Girls. Supergrass topped the Saturday over Feeder and Jake Bugg.

More names are due in the coming weeks, the council says, with the Sunday bill still to come.

Tickets, and what the council gets out of it

Tickets for the Becky Hill night are on sale through the Visit Swansea Bay website. In 2025 a weekend pass was £100 for adults and £70 for three to 17-year-olds, with day tickets at £40 and £35; 2027’s prices are on the ticket page.

Cllr Andrew Williams, the council’s cabinet member for development, said it was “fantastic to see an artist of Becky Hill’s calibre announced as the opening headliner”.

He said events like it “bring thousands of people to Swansea and give visitors another reason to spend time in the city”, and that 2027 was “looking set to be a very promising year for music in Swansea”, with more live music “already taking shape”.

The festival is run by Tunes Festivals, the Cornish company behind Tunes in the Dunes at Perranporth, which first applied to bring the format to Swansea in 2023 for a May 2024 date before putting it back a year.

Its site on the beach can take up to 10,000 people a day, and the 2025 event ran from noon to 11pm each day.

The 2027 festival runs from Friday 30 April into the early May bank holiday weekend, the same slot the first one took in 2025.
