The teenager, from Resolven, was last seen on 22 March 2002 after leaving his home to attend a house party in Aberdulais.

Police have made regular appeals for more information to uncover what happened to Robert, including a Crimewatch Live appeal in 2021. The most recent appeal was made just two weeks ago.

Following the two arrests on Tuesday (26 September), a spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “A 59-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were arrested early this morning and have since been bailed for further inquiries.”
