University awards mobile phone contract to local company Dyfed Telecom

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has appointed Dyfed Telecom as a mobile phone provider for the university.

As part of the project, the company will provide the University with mobile phone services for the next 12 months.

Supporting local businesses and supply chains is a key priority for the University so that the economic benefits have a direct impact on the communities surrounding its campuses.  Working with such companies ensures that high quality jobs are available in these communities which supports economic and social sustainability.

Ben Thorn, Executive Head of IT Service Delivery at UWTSD said: “The University is pleased to be working with Dyfed Telecom as its mobile phone provider for the next 12 months. As a local company with offices in Carmarthen, Kidwelly and Welshpool, it allows us not only to have access to sector leading mobile phone solutions but also working with a local company that has rapidly cemented its reputation for delivering high quality personalised mobile phone services.”

Meirion Davies, Dyfed Telecom Head of Operations, said: “We are delighted and proud to welcome UWTSD on board as one of our biggest customers to date. Supporting local businesses is one of the main reasons for Dyfed Telecom’s growth and we aim to provide fantastic customer service using local staff.

“Since 2011, the company has established itself as a leading supplier of 4G mobile broadband and mobile phones to homes, farms, and businesses across Wales.

“Staff levels have increased tenfold over the last two years and a large customer base will help us provide more jobs for the local community.
