Williams’ side would triumph with forward Liam Cullen, captain Matt Grimes and Ukrainian striker Mykola Kuharevich all on the scoresheet.
Wales international Cullen would strike first finishing a Ronald cross early on, before Grimes showed good composure to slot in from the penalty spot after Ollie Cooper had been fouled in the box.
The Swans would send out a completely different line-up for the second 45 minutes and whilst Swindon posed more of a threat, substitute Kuharevich’s close-range finish from a Liam Smith cross then sealed the result. The Ukrainian scoring the Swans third to dismiss any thoughts of a comeback shortly after Robins midfielder Jaxon Brown had pulled a goal back for the visitors.
Speaking after the game Williams was encouraged with the effort the players have been putting in but knows there is plenty more hard work to come.
“The players have been working really hard and I think they needed to go and play against live opposition,” said Williams.
“It was a very good exercise for both teams and we are very happy with that.
“They’ve done a lot of double sessions, so I think there’s been a lot of frustration for the players to release on the opposition today.
“They gave a good account of themselves in terms of how hard they were prepared to work and some of the ideas we have put into training already – it was very worthwhile.
“The two periods were quite different. I felt the first half was very impressive, and the second half was a bit more difficult for us.
“It does mean that there are things we can look at now to try and help us when we strip the game down to show the players in the video room.
“We have everything to learn from now. Hard work here for a week and then we go away to do double sessions in for a week in Austria.
“Then it’s getting closer to the start of the league campaign. We cannot wait!”
