Witness appeal after man dies on tracks at Bridgend train station

British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of another man on the tracks at Bridgend train station.

Detectives from British Transport Police are calling for anyone who witnessed the incident in the early hours of Saturday morning (27 April) to come forward.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Bridgend railway station at 1.40am on Saturday 27 April to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man in his 30s from the Bridgend area was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His family are being supported by specialist officers.

“A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and has been released under investigation.

“Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to his death and there will be an increased police presence at the station in the coming days. Officers urge witnesses, or anyone else with information who is yet to speak to police, to get in touch by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 35 of 27 April.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
