TSB announces closure of Carmarthen branch
TSB’s branch in Carmarthen town centre is to close on 17 September the bank has announced.
TSB has announced the closure of its Blue Street branch in Carmarthen town centre on 17 September 2024.
The Carmarthen closure is part of an announcement that sees the banking group cutting 36 branches and 250 jobs across the UK from September.
TSB say the closures are due to the changing ways people access banking services, with 68% of the Carmarthen branch’s customers also using mobile, online or telephone banking.
It said that just 3 customers regularly did their personal banking and 2 customers regularly did their business banking at the branch, located next to the town’s main bus station.
After September, the nearest TSB branch will be on Union Street in Swansea, 28 miles away.
TSB say that customers can also access many banking services face-to-face at the Post Office, with the nearest branch in Carmarthen just around the corner on Guildhall Square.
