The family of Lynne Trump, the 45-year-old motorcyclist who died in a collision on the A4109 near Cefn Coed Colliery on Sunday, have described her as “one of life’s rare diamonds” in a tribute released through South Wales Police.
Mrs Trump, from Crynant, died at the scene of the crash on the Dulais Valley road at around 3pm on Sunday 16 August, despite the efforts of passers-by and medical staff.
In a statement, her family said she was “a devoted wife, a loving mother and a cherished grandmother” whose “presence made the world a brighter and happier place for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her”.
“The life and soul of every party”
They described her as fun, loving, caring and generous, “with a wonderful personality that drew people towards her”.
“She was the life and soul of every party, always bringing laughter, warmth and happiness wherever she went,” the family said. “Her infectious smile and wonderful sense of humour could light up any room.”
Mrs Trump was the heart of her family, they said, and “someone who would always put others before herself”, giving her husband, children and grandchildren “so much love, support and precious memories that will be treasured forever”.
“Her family meant everything to her, and she took great pride in watching those she loved grow and build their own lives.”
Her friendships mattered just as much. “The bonds she made with people were genuine and lasting,” the statement said. “She had a wonderful way of making friends feel like family.”
“We will carry Lynne with us in our hearts forever”
The family said they had been “incredibly lucky” to have had her in their lives, and that her “kindness, laughter, warmth, and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten”.
“Although we are heartbroken that she is no longer with us, we will carry Lynne with us in our hearts forever,” they said. “Her memory will live on through her family, her friends and the countless lives she touched.”
“Lynne truly was a rare diamond, precious, irreplaceable and one of a kind. She will be loved, missed, and remembered always.”
A photograph released with the tribute shows Mrs Trump on her wedding day at Neath Abbey.
South Wales Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam footage of it or the moments leading up to it, to contact the force on 101 quoting occurrence number 2600268317.
