A 45-year-old woman has died following a motorbike crash on the A4109 near Cefn Coed Colliery, South Wales Police have said.
The collision happened at around 3pm on Sunday 16 August on the Dulais Valley road, close to the former colliery site.
The rider, from Crynant, died at the scene, the force said.
Officers said she could not be saved “despite the best efforts of those passing the scene and later medical professionals”.
Her family is being supported by specially trained officers.
The road has since reopened following an investigation into the collision.
It is the latest death involving a motorcyclist on the region’s roads this summer. A 48-year-old rider died in a collision between two motorcycles on the A4069 near Brynamman in late June.
Days earlier, a motorcyclist was killed in a four-vehicle crash on the A40 between St Clears and Whitland.
South Wales Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed Sunday’s collision to come forward.
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of the crash “or the moments leading up to it”.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the force on 101, quoting occurrence number 2600268317.
Reports can also be made through the force’s website, and 999 should always be used in an emergency.
