Edwards and Parry back in Ospreys side for URC clash with champions Glasgow.

Edwards, 21, made his Wales debut as a replacement in the 43-0 defeat by France before also coming off the bench in the 22-15 loss in Italy, but provides a boost to his side at 10 this weekend.

Veteran Justin Tipuric continues to captain the side which show four changes in the absence of Jac Morgan who is on Wales duty. Morgan is one of 20 players unavailable this weekend because of injuries and international call-ups with the Scots facing a similar scenario.

The trip to Scotland is likely to be a daunting challenge for Mark Jones’ men who come into the match in 13th position, four points off Scarlets in the final play-off placing.

The match-up against a Glasgow side lying second in the league whose only loss at Scotstoun Stadium in the URC since October 2021 was in the 2023 quarter-final play-off to Munster.

The Welsh region, however, will take heart from the closely-fought 22-19 close-fought defeat to leaders Leinster last time out – the only defeat since the former Scarlets winger took over the reigns of the club at the back end of the last calendar year.

Garyn Phillips starts for the Ospreys at loosehead, with Sam Parry recovering from a knock to line up at hooker with Tom Botha completing the front three.

James Ratti partners with James Fender at lock. Harri Deaves will look to back up his impressive performance against Leinster at six, Tipuric takes up the other flank and Morgan Morse comes in for Morgan Morris at eight.

Kieran Hardy starts at scrum half with both Luke Davies and Ruben Morgan-Williams unavailable. Edwards is his half-back partner.

Keiran Williams partners Evardi Boshoff form an unchanged midfield partnership with the game coming to soon for Fiji captain Waisea Nayacalevu after the centre this week signed from Sale on a deal until the end of the season.

In the back three, Jack Walsh starts at full back, with Keelan Giles on one wing and Daniel Kasende on the other.

Scrum-half Scott Whitlock, 20, is in line to make his debut from the bench.

Ospreys head coach Mark Jones said:

“Glasgow are the champions, and you don’t win the league without having quality depth. We’ve paid them the respect they have earned and deserve in the build-up.

“If one of the teams don’t get themselves quite where they need to be, the other team is capable of taking advantage. We’re well aware of that and the boys will be prepared.”
