A Llanelli man has been arrested after a 102-year-old man was allegedly assaulted at a pub in Cwmbran, leaving him in a critical condition.
Emergency services were called to The Crow’s Nest pub in Cwmbran, Torfaen, at about 10.25pm on Saturday 1 August, and the 102-year-old was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Gwent Police said officers attended alongside crews from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
The force said a 56-year-old man from Llanelli was arrested on suspicion of Section 20 assault, inflicting grievous bodily harm, and he has since been released under investigation.
Police say “enquiries are ongoing”, and are appealing to anyone who was in the pub between 10pm and 11pm that night to come forward.
