Ukrainian striker Kuharevich would surprise 10-year-old compatriot Tymofii at his training session just a year after the youngster and his mother had fled their war torn homeland.

Tymofii who also has a younger brother, moved to Swansea from Kharkiv in May 2022  – Ukraine’s second largest city which was one of the early targets of Russian airstrikes, being located near the Russian border.

Whilst the youngster has settled into life in South Wales well, he still dreams of returning home once it is safe to do so.

Kuharevich spoke with the young footballer, and invited the whole Galaxy team to be the Guard of Honour for the Swans’ home match last night against Preston North End, with the youngster over the moon with being able to see the team play.

“Like a Christmas treat I just wanted to invite you all to our home game and i’ll be happy to see you all there,” said Kuharevich to the youngsters on the visit filmed by the club.

The Swans star then presented an overwhelmed Tymofii a replica Swansea City home shirt in front of his teammates and coaching staff to a rousing ovation, before the whole squad posed with the Ukrainian for an unforgettable Christmas moment.
