SWANS: Sam Parker joins Wycombe Wanderers on season-long loan

Swansea City full-back Sam Parker has joined Wycombe Wanderers on a season-long loan.

The move is subject to clearance, and will see the 20-year-old spend the 2026-27 campaign in League One with the Chairboys.

Cardiff-born Parker has been with the Swans from under-nine level, rising through the academy to a first-team debut in a 2-2 draw away at Coventry City in December 2023, aged 17.

He made a positive early impression before a serious hamstring injury the following January ended his season.

Parker returned to make seven appearances in 2024-25 and four consecutive starts at the back end of last term, impressing in victories over Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers, taking his senior tally to 16.

The full-back, who can also play wing-back or winger, has represented Wales up to under-21 level, and was part of the Wales U17 squad at the country’s first European Championship at that age grade in 2023.

His long-term future is settled in SA1. Parker signed a contract running to June 2028 in the summer of 2024, after reported interest from clubs including Burnley and PSV Eindhoven.

The club said the loan would give him “valuable regular first-team football” at Adams Park as he continues his development.

It is a well-worn path for the young Swans, with regular league minutes in the third tier the next step up from under-21 football.

The move comes with pre-season in full swing, the squad having just returned from a training camp in Austria with a win over Serie A side Udinese.

The Swans open their Championship campaign next month, while Parker will be battling for a League One starting shirt.

The club said everyone at Swansea City wished Parker well during his season at Adams Park.
