Swansea Council says it’s trialling the reopening of part of Pau Square Car Park, located in Swansea Marina.

The multi storey car park already provides parking for residents in the marina but has been closed to the general public because of instances of anti-social behaviour and vandalism.

The Council has now confirmed plans to reopen one floor of the multi-storey facility on a trial basis from Monday 29 May.

Andrew Stevens, Cabinet Member for Environment & Infrastructure, said: “Increasing car parking provision in the city centre is always something we look to consider where possible.

“The marina is a well visited attraction in Swansea and parking is something we have been looking at for some time.

“We have been talking with marina residents and listening to their concerns about car parking as well as proposals to reopen this car park.

“The facility has suffered in recent years from vandalism and anti-social behaviour. Along with these issues, there are significant improvements required to enable the car park to reopen fully.

“A recent visit and inspection has given us the opportunity to consider a trial reopening of the first floor to the general public.”
