Llanelli haulage boss gets MBE in New Years honours
Founder and Managing Director of Llanelli-based road haulage company Owens Group, Thomas Huw Owens has been awarded an MBE for services to Employment and to the community in Llanelli and South Wales.
In a statement on their website, Owens Group said: “2021 will see Huw at the helm of the Owens Group for 49 strong years, that has seen continued growth and success providing employment to the town of Llanelli for as many years with the Blue lorry synonymous to home based in South West Wales
“This award is also true testimony to the number of Charities and local sport that the Group has fortunately been able to support over these years
“As a family, we are delighted – 2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for business and mindset alike, this is truly wonderful news in times of adversity”
