Swansea cinema to celebrate Britain’s favourite cinema snack this upcoming National Popcorn Day
Tomorrow marks National Popcorn Day (19 January) and Swansea’s Vue cinema is marking the occasion by offering film fans an extra special treat.
The cinema chain has announced that anyone purchasing popcorn on National Popcorn Day will receive a complimentary free popcorn topping of M&M chocolates to accompany their big screen treat – the perfect partner for big screen releases such as Wonka or the new musical adaptation of Mean Girls.
This will no doubt be welcome by Vue customers, after it was revealed over 20.5 million kilograms of popcorn (the equivalent of 5,000 elephants!) was sold to guests last year as they looked for the perfect snack to enjoy while watching huge blockbuster hits such as Barbie and Oppenheimer.
National Popcorn Day is an annual celebration of a time-honoured snack, synonymous with a trip to Vue.
Toby Bradon, General Manager of Vue UK & Ireland, said: “This National Popcorn Day, we wanted to extend a sweet gesture to anyone who visits our sites to enjoy the latest in big screen entertainment – as well as a bite of popcorn to eat – with some tasty bonuses.
“Film fans and families across the UK have shown just how much they love popcorn while visiting Vue, so we’re happy to share this passion for the sweet or salty snack with fans of all things popcorn this week.”
