Llanelli Town AFC are reshaping for the season ahead, with a near-complete overhaul of the playing squad, a renewed main sponsor and held-down ticket prices all confirmed in recent days.
The Llanelli Town side dropped out of the Cymru Premier last season, but secured an FAW Tier 1 licence that keeps them certified to return to the top flight the moment they win promotion back.
Pre-season has brought wholesale change on the playing side, with a long list of arrivals and an even longer one of departures at Stebonheath Park.
Among the notable exits, James Lester — the teenager handed a shock Trinidad and Tobago call-up earlier this year — has moved to Barry Town United.
Joe Hopkins has joined newly promoted Ammanford, while others including Tristan Jenkins and Joe Lloyd have gone to Briton Ferry Llansawel.
Sean Cronin, Jamie Baker and Morgan Evans have all moved to Afan Lido, with Alex Pennock joining Penybont, in a summer that has reshaped the Reds’ dressing room almost top to bottom.
Coming the other way, Llanelli have brought in the likes of Kieran Dawe, Miles John from Goytre United and Calum Salter from Ynyshir Albions, among a raft of new faces.
The rebuild continues a period of change at a club that has been anything but quiet off the pitch in recent years.
Llanelli made headlines as the first Welsh club to launch a fan-investment campaign on the Republic Europe platform, and have reshaped their management set-up since parting company with former boss Lee John.
Off the field, the club has confirmed Red Town Taverns will continue as main and front-of-shirt sponsors for a fourth consecutive season.
The pub operator, described by the club as one of Llanelli’s leading local businesses, has backed the Reds through their recent rise and fall between the divisions.
Supporters have also had confirmation of matchday prices for the new campaign, with the club holding admission down.
Adults will pay £7, with concessions and under-16s £4, and a family ticket — two adults and two children under 12 — set at £15.
The club said it had worked to keep prices affordable for individual supporters, younger fans and families, with matchday income an important part of funding the season ahead.
Llanelli’s home fixtures get under way as the Reds look to mount a promotion challenge and bounce straight back to the Cymru Premier at the first attempt.
