A man has died just over a week after plunging from a sixth-floor window at a university campus.
Student Matthew Gilbert, 19, was taken to Cardiff’s University Hospital of Wales in the early hours of Sunday 14 April to treat his injuries.
Police have confirmed he died in hospital on Wednesday following his fall at Swansea University’s Singleton campus that left him in a critical condition.

“We were called to an incident in the early hours of Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Swansea University, Singleton Campus.
“Matthew Gilbert, a 19-year-old student, was taken to Cardiff Heath Hospital as a result of the incident due to injuries sustained from falling out of a sixth-floor window.
“Police have been informed that Matthew passed away in hospital on April 24. Family members are being supported by specially-trained officers.”

“Our thoughts are with Matthew’s family at this time and we extend our deepest condolences at their tragic loss.
“Matthew was a first-year student with us studying LLB Law with Criminology. He was
