School Playground gets a Community Challenge makeover
Youngsters at Blaenbaglan Primary School will be returning to a brighter and more welcoming play area in a week or two, after a Community Challenge organised by Tai Tarian.
Contractors Jeffries Ltd and Johnstone Paints teamed up with the social landlord, giving the littlest children’s outdoor space has a bright new look, with new mini goalposts and storage.
The makeover was paid for via a Community Benefits arrangement between Tai Tarian and contractors.
Brand new planters and a wooden stage were created for the pupils, while the team of volunteers also brightened up a shed, walls and floor games.
Andrew Williams is Operations Director for Jeffries Ltd, who have been working with Tai Tarian on upgrading void properties for 7 years.
“This is probably our seventh or eighth Community Challenge with Tai Tarian and its great to be involved in community schemes.
“We went to the school a couple of months ago to scope out this work and it will be nice to see the difference for pupils.”
Territory Manager for PPG Johnstone’s Paint, Kristian Hassan said they wanted to give something back to the community:
“Its been a great day, as always, and its nice to think the pupils will be coming back to this bright and cheerful play area.”
