Revealed! The Swansea Sports Awards winners
A wide variety of strong-performing community and high-profile sports people and organisations have been recognised in the 2023 Swansea Sports Awards.
There were more than 100 nominations for the Swansea Council-run scheme – and those shortlisted represent a wide variety of community clubs and activities.
The winners were announced at an awards event in the Brangwyn Hall which was attended by more than 400 people, including sporting dignitaries.
Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “Our winners – and those shortlisted – show that Swansea’s a city full of sporting champions.
“It was a privilege to see the smiles of those who attended the event and so encouraging to see individuals, teams and coaches recognised.
“The council’s sport and health team thank everybody who nominated their 2023 sporting champions.
“Winners ranged from volunteers and coaches who put in hundreds of hours behind the scenes to teams and committed individuals who achieve the most in their sport. We thank those who submitted the nominations.”
Sport and Physical activity plays such an important and positive role in people’s health and well-being and which is why, as a Council, we continue to invest in the city’s sporting infrastructure with our partners, so that future generations have equal access to sporting facilities across the city.
The awards night was held in association with Freedom Leisure.
